Keerthy Suresh’s Regal TIFF Look Has the Internet Calling Her ‘Royalty’
Keerthy Suresh turned heads at TIFF 2026 in a contemporary Kanjivaram-inspired ensemble featuring a burgundy skirt, structured cropped blouse and traditional Kerala gold jewellery.
Keerthy Suresh brought a distinctly South Indian touch to the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), turning heads with a contemporary take on traditional Kanjivaram fashion. The National Award-winning actress attended the world premiere of her Tamil film Dorothy, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, and her elegant appearance quickly became a talking point online.
Rather than choosing a conventional Western red-carpet gown, Keerthy opted for an ensemble that blended traditional Indian craftsmanship with a modern silhouette. The look was designed by Karan Torani and styled by Ami Patel, according to reports.
Keerthy’s Contemporary Kanjivaram Look
Keerthy wore a rich burgundy and antique-gold ensemble inspired by the classic Kanjivaram aesthetic. The outfit featured a structured, textured cropped blouse in a muted gold-brown shade, paired with a voluminous deep-maroon skirt.
The skirt stood out with its broad metallic-gold hem and subtle green detailing, giving the outfit the richness traditionally associated with South Indian festive wear while keeping the overall silhouette distinctly contemporary.
She completed the outfit with a matching brocade-style dupatta, draped elegantly across her shoulders and around the front. The dupatta featured delicate gold motifs and an ornate border that tied the entire burgundy-and-gold palette together.
The combination of the fitted cropped blouse, flowing skirt and draped dupatta gave Keerthy a regal yet modern red-carpet presence.
Traditional Gold Jewellery Steals Attention
The actress kept the jewellery rooted in South Indian tradition. She accessorised the look with layered Kerala-style gold necklaces, including a prominent statement necklace with an intricate design and a dark teardrop-shaped pendant at the centre.
Her gold drop earrings complemented the necklace without taking attention away from the outfit. The warm gold jewellery against the deep burgundy fabric added an unmistakably traditional touch to an otherwise contemporary ensemble.
Keerthy kept her beauty look relatively understated, allowing her expressive eyes, polished makeup and neatly styled hair to remain the focus. In the photographs, her confident poses and warm smile added to the overall elegance of the look.
Keerthy’s TIFF Appearance Gets Fans Talking
The fashion moment came alongside an important milestone for Dorothy. The Karthik Subbaraj directorial had its world premiere at TIFF 2026 and received a standing ovation following its screening. The film stars Keerthy alongside Sananth and Rishikanth and was presented in the festival’s Centrepiece section.
The film is also scheduled for a theatrical release in India on September 25, 2026.
With Dorothy representing Tamil cinema on an international platform, Keerthy’s fashion choice felt equally significant. She managed to take an outfit inspired by one of South India’s most recognisable textile traditions and give it a sophisticated international red-carpet treatment.
And the internet clearly took notice. Fans and fashion followers flooded social media with praise for her regal appearance, with one admirer summing up the mood perfectly:
“Royalty doesn’t knock. She walks in.”
For Keerthy Suresh, TIFF turned out to be more than just another red-carpet appearance. It was a moment where Tamil cinema, South Indian heritage and contemporary fashion came together on a global stage.
