Massive Fire Breaks Out at Plywood Warehouse, Firefighters Search for Missing Worker

A major fire broke out at a plywood warehouse on Sunday afternoon, triggering a large emergency response as thick smoke spread across the surrounding area.

The blaze reportedly started at a plywood godown located behind a hospital near Kheda Devta Mandir. Because plywood and other materials inside the warehouse are highly combustible, the fire quickly intensified, prompting authorities to deploy dozens of fire tenders and hundreds of firefighters.

Firefighters Battle Flames for Hours

Fire crews continued fighting the blaze well into the evening as flames engulfed parts of the warehouse. Alongside firefighting operations, teams were also checking the premises for anyone who may have been trapped inside.

Officials were particularly concerned about one worker who was reported missing following the incident. Search efforts continued as firefighters worked through the damaged sections of the warehouse.

The heavy smoke also created a risk for people in nearby buildings. Authorities evacuated surrounding structures as a precaution while emergency teams attempted to bring the situation under control.

Fire Officer Hospitalised After Smoke Inhalation

Station Officer Sunil Sagar reportedly inhaled smoke while taking part in the rescue and firefighting operation. He was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.

No other injuries were reported at the time of the available information.

The fire caused extensive damage to portions of the warehouse, with large quantities of plywood and other stored material affected by the flames.

Investigation Into the Fire

The priority for emergency teams remained controlling the blaze, ensuring there were no people trapped inside and preventing the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.

Authorities are expected to assess the extent of the property damage and determine how the fire started once the operation is fully completed.

The incident once again highlights the serious risks associated with fires at warehouses storing large quantities of combustible materials.
